Owner: Larry Miller
In 1965 Ford budgeted $4.5 million for the racing season. Carroll Shelby was put in charge of the racing program due to his success with the Cobras and his European racing experience in the 50's. Carroll replaced the wire wheels with Halibrands, installed the 289 Cobra racing engine, and simplified many components of the GT. Wins at Daytona and Sebring followed.

P/103 was successfully campaigned by Shelby American in 1965 and became the first GT40 to ever win a race as well as finish one with Ken Miles behind the wheel! This GT40 was the start of an incredible success story by Shelby American and the GT40.

P103 was first sold to and raced by Bill Wonder in 1966 until 2005 when acquired by Larry Miller. P103 will now undergo a careful restoration to bring it back to its original race configuration while not disturbing the patina it has kept for all these years. It is the earliest surviving GT40 with 101 and 102 having been destroyed in 1964.
