The 1963 "Sebring" Cobras were the first to use rack and pinion steering and the 289 engine. Recognizable by unique yellow striping and a cut away driver's door, CSX 2128 raced as a Shelby American factory team car from March through July 1963. Sold to Coventry Motors, the cars' success during the remainder of 1963, prompted Shelby American to buy it back for the 1964 season. Campaigned under three different configurations, this "workhorse" was among the most successful of the factory team Cobras. Currently undergoing its final phase of restoration, and thirty four years since its last race, CSX 2128 will be ready for the 1998 season.
